Scenic Valley Driving School

Thank you for your interest in Scenic Valley Driving School and welcome to our website.  Whether you are a teenage student excited about getting your drivers license, an adult who is looking for help in learning how to drive or a parent looking for a driving school you can trust to help your son or daughter get off to the right start in their driving careers, you have come to the right place!

Scenic Valley Driving School is Licensed by the State of Wisconsin to provide Classroom and Behind-the-Wheel Training to adult and teenage students.  When it comes time to obtain an Instruction Permit, our students can take the required written exams right in our classroom, which is more convenient than driving to the Motor Vehicle Department and waiting in line.

I encourage students and parents to carefully compare driving schools and give strong consideration to the background and qualifications of the instructors who will be doing the teaching.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration concluded long ago that mandatory drivers education in the United States has made little or no difference when it comes to the safety of teenage drivers over the last few decades.  This is due, in part, to the fact that many crashes that teenagers are involved in are caused by their attitudes, or willingness to take risks, and not their physical driving skills.  In recent years Graduated Licensing has been introduced in Wisconsin and many other States in an effort to increase safety for teenage drivers and passengers.  These programs are helping, but better driver training is also needed!

How can we do a better job?  It starts with the instructors.  I have been employed as a Deputy Sheriff and Police Officer for more than 19 years, and have witnessed first-hand the devastating impact that traffic crashes have on people in terms of finances, injuries and loss of life.  These experiences have had a profound impact on me and led to the opening of Scenic Valley Driving School in 1999.  I started with one simple goal:  to do a better job of making young drivers aware of the risks they face and the fact that the personal choices they make give them a significant amount of control over their own safety.  To help achieve this goal, I have been fortunate to assemble a staff of highly qualified Licensed Driving Instructors.  Please visit our Instructor's Page to meet our staff and read about their background and qualifications.
